Mário David Sequeira

Biography

Mário D. Sequeira, a Geology PhD student at the University of Coimbra's Department of Earth Sciences and the Centre for Social Studies, is presently engrossed in his PhD thesis. The focus of his research is surface water monitoring to assess the drivers behind land use and land cover change. This endeavor is made possible through funding from the Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia, under the grant number 2020.05101.BD. Prior to his doctoral studies, Mário was engaged as a researcher in the Centre for Social Studies, contributing to the INTERREG funded project named Risk AquaSoil (EAPA_272/2016). His role in this project laid the groundwork for his current research, which delves into the correlation between changes in land-use and their impact on surface water quality. This area of study aligns seamlessly with his research interests, which revolve around the realm of environmental geology.
