Luciana Moreira


Biography

Luciana Moreira Silva graduated in Portuguese Literature at the University of Coimbra. She is currently a Ph.D. student in "Human Rights in Contemporary Societies" (CES/III - University of Coimbra). She is a junior researcher at Centre for Social Sciences, University of Coimbra, since 2009, where she worked in projects about memory, literature, colonial wars, colonialism and post colonialism until 2013. Between 2014 and 2019 she was a Research fellow in the project "INTIMATE Citizenship, Care and Choice: The Micropolitics of Intimacy in Southern Europe" (2014-2019), funded by the European Research Council. She was a member of the Organizing Committee of Gender Workshop Series, at CES, from 2016 to 2021. Her current research interests are: queer theory; feminist studies; cultural studies; gender; postcolonialism; human rights. She is also an activist in the queer and feminist movements in Portugal.
