Sara Ventura da Cruz


Biography

Sara Ventura da Cruz (Aveiro, 1978) graduated in Architecture by the University of Coimbra (FCTUC, 2005), and took part in the scholarly exchange programme Erasmus in the school year 2001/2001 at Katholieke Universiteit de Leuven (Belgium). After professional experiences in Urban Planning, she has done a Postgraduate in Planning, Urbanism and Environmental Law (CEDOUA-UC, 2009) and is Master in Architecture by the University of Coimbra (FCTUC, 2011) with the thesis "Aveiro, a Avenida: bases para um plano", on Urban Rehabilitation. Since 2012, is a PhD student in the PhD Programme "Heritages of Portuguese Influence" from the Institute of Interdisciplinary Research (III-UC) and the Centre for Social Studies (CES-UC) of the University of Coimbra, where she is developing her thesis on "Territorial visions of the Portuguese Enlightenment in Southern Africa", with a doctoral scholarship from Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT).
