Vasco Almeida


Biography

Vasco Almeida is a researcher at CES where he is a member of the research group on Science, Economy and Society. He is adjunct professor at ISMT, where he has been teaching several subjects in the field of Economics and Social Policy. He has a PhD in Governance, Knowledge and Innovation by the Faculty of Economics of the University of Coimbra (2010), where he had previously taken a master degree in European Economy (1996) and graduated in Economics (1979). At ISMT, he has had the functions of scientific coordinator of the Management course (2010 - 2020), coordinator of the ISMT Library (2005-2022), and editor of the Journal Interações (since 2018). His research work has been focused on issues concerning the State and public expenditures, institutional economics, governance and the third sector, having published several articles in the mentioned areas. He authored the book "The Private Institutions of Social Solidarity. Governance and the Third Sector" (Almedina, 2011). His most recent research interests focus on the areas of conscious economy and sustainable economy.
